The estate, known as ”S’Hort de Ca S’Hereu” (The garden of the heir’s house), is located in the town of Valldemossa, made famous by the visit of Frèderic Chopin and George Sand.

It is situated some 16.5 kilometres from Palma de Mallorca, the capital of the island of Majorca, the largest of the Balearic Islands, Spain, in the Mediterranean, between the Iberian Peninsula and Italy.

The island of Majorca is one of the most important international centres of communication of Europe, with connecting flights to the whole world. It has important tourist development areas as well as extensive protected natural areas. The southern part of the island offers a warm climate with beautiful sandy beaches while the mountainous northern region offers a milder climate with abundant, thick vegetation.

The S’Hort de CaS’Hereu estate is located to the north-west, with abundant vegetation, and is in a protected area. It has an approximate surface area of 8,805 m2, divided into gardens and orchards, with 65 orange trees and numerous other species of fruit trees (apple, pear, apricot, lemon, plum and cherry).

The main house, made of stone with wooden beams, covers some 140 m2. It was built in 1891 and has four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room-dining room, lounge and kitchen. Central heating has been installed (although electric heating is currently used) and it also has a telephone, satellite dish and cable TV.

Nearby, to the rear of the house, there is an old barn that has been converted into a guest flat with lounge, kitchen, small dining room, two bedrooms and bathroom.

Finally, in the middle of the garden and also made from stone is a glazed summerhouse with a surface area of some 100 m2, a maximum height of 3.50 m2 and wooden beams, built in a traditionally Majorcan style. The lawned area of the garden covers 1200 m2 while a more rustic area covers 700 m2.

Water for the garden comes from a natural spring located at the neighbouring estate above, which it has a right to three days a week, and also from a direct connection to water pipes from the town. The lawn has an automatic sprinkler system that can be connected either to the spring water or water pipes.

When the main house and summerhouse were reconstructed, the original materials were preserved or modern materials manufactured using ancient methods were used.

The property is being sold directly by the owner, without intermediaries. The estate is being sold unfurnished and without paintings (although the owner is open to negotiations). Anyone interested in buying the estate should contact the owner by e-mail, in English or Spanish, at the following address: info@casereu-vall.com
